Well, we have been in the thick of it with the renters of our Springville house. They left on Sunday for CA to be with a dying mother, without paying rent for the almost 3 weeks they were here in August AND they left us a few surprises to clean up (to read the full adventure go to gonnahavetofeel.blogspot.com)!
We moved Heather into her dorm today. She is very excited about it all, even though she won't officially be starting school until spring semester due to a delay in financial aid. She does start work tomorrow at Texaco which should pay her sufficiently so she can get the essentials and still save up for tuition, in case she doesn't qualify for the aid.
The kids are loving school (okay, maybe "love" is a bit strong), but they are liking it enough to show enthusiasm for their classes - even Dakota seems enthralled with Biology. He is also pleased as punch that he has a study skills class that teaches him what he needs to study better in addition to giving him time to get some homework done. Quite helpful during football season.
Jaden does like junior high, and Danielle is loving her dance class - her "favorite" she just told me today. Quay is actually staying with us through this coming Sunday. Even though I think he is not sure what to think of us all, and most likely gets overwhelmed from time to time, he has been a lot of fun to have around. He is very helpful and a great influence for the younger kids. He was freaking out a couple of days ago because a friend of his is getting married and then he just found out that his best friend is getting married to a girl he has only known for 3 months. He is feeling the pressure but it determined to hold! lol. He left off the conversation saying he was going to call his friend and give him "what for."
I think things are finally going to start calming down again, which Tom and I need very much. We just hugged in the driveway for the first time today as we were loading Heather's stuff into the car. "I miss you," he said. Yep. Too busy.
